Thalia&Calliope - Finding Nemo, directed by Lee Unkrich

It's not often that'll I will willingly go to the cinema to watch a cartoon. I can safely say, however, that Disney Pixar's smashing new movie, Finding Nemo must be one of the best films this year. For starters, I think that I should mention that Disney's warning that the film contained "mild peril" cannot in any way begin to convey the terror that I experienced throughout the film ~ if I were a five year old I think that I would need serious therapy to get over this film. Sharks, jellyfish, giant men with fishing nets and dentist drills, huge ugly fish things that have lights on their heads.... *shudder* there is no way that this film is fit for the eyes of five year olds!

But regardless of whether the kids have nightmares afterwards or not, I strongly recommend this movie. With comedy, mystery, adventure and thriller elements all built in as part of the package, you'd be a fool to miss out. The characters have depths that suggest the hundreds of stories that have made up their supposed pasts and it is actually scary to find yourself, a grown man or woman, empathising with a fish - a cartoon fish at that.
