The Muses were the goddesses of human inspirations. The Fates were Atropos, Clotho and Lachesis, who were in charge of watching over fate.

Calliope,Erato&Polyhymnia - The Fire and the Rose, by Abby and Anne

On fanfiction.net (FFN), they are known as Rhosmedre and MetroVampire, the authors of various Harry Potter based fanfics: Abby's The Other Side of Darkness and its sequel Survivals and Remembrances, as well as the lemony The Fourth Unforgivable and her latest story, Rondo Veneziano.
Anne's two offerings are the Midnight series: Around Midnight and After Midnight . Together, having teamed up in 2002, they wrote one of the most refined adult fanfics to grace our computer screens. The foundations that have been set by J.K. Rowling are present in both The Fire and the Rose and its sequel, and even the tricky relationship which develops between two of the most unlikely characters seems to become the most natural course to be taken. These two characters are Severus Snape and Hermione Granger, a couple that most would look on as being bizarre and, yes, somewhat gross. It is the fact that Abby and Anne have managed to present Snape as the nasty, greasy, cruel Potions Master that we recognise from the original books and Hermione as the studious third-wheel of the Harry Potter 'dream team', and still achieved a believable relationship is commendable and proof of this story's magic.

I recommend this story to all fans of the Harry Potter, whether already familiar with this particular pairing or not; the tale is thought through and uniquely personal, lending it a wonderful air of reality.
